- two degrees = strong
- above 2 degrees = very strong to super
- As of now we have a 1 in 4 chance of being 2.5 degrees above normal while some models say 3 degrees
- This would be the strongest el nino in modern history
- Michigan tends to have warmer winters during el nino and sometimes the second half of the summer is cooler
- Hurricane season is typically significantly quieter in Atlantic but might increase in gulf and Pacific
- Temperatures are usually hotter and humidity is higher
