- Data Mode – allows your phone to process things on wifi instead of using cellular data (low data mode uses wifi only) – MOM DO NOT DO THIS

- iCloud backup – change to wifi only
- Settings – cellular – iCloud backup – switch off

- Settings – app store – turn off app downloads (unless you want apps to show up on all devices)

- in app ratings and reviews – you won’t be asked over and over to leave reviews for apps

- Sounds and haptics
- settings – sounds and haptics – change with buttons -turn off so that turning the volume down on your hulu movie does not impact the volume of your alarm
- Display
- Settings – display and brightness – always on display – you can turn this off here if it bothers you
- Privacy
- Settings – privacy and security – tracking – allow apps to request to track – turn off
- Create QR code for wifi password
- Open Passwords -select wifi – select your wifi network – click show network QR code
- What Apple does not give you the ability to do here is print the code, text the code or email the code. To take a screenshot – Press the on/off button on the right and the volume up button on the left at the same time. The screenshot will appear in the bottom corner. You can click on the screenshot and either click on the box with the arrow in the top right corner to text or email or click done to save to photos.
- Share podcast from specific timestamp
- Open apple podcasts. In the episode you are listening to click the three dots to the right of the episode title and click share episode. Under the episode name it will say “from start” but you can change that to the exact time the podcast is currently on. Send the text or email.
- Restarting your phone from control center
- Swipe down from the upper right corner to bring down the control panel. In the upper right corner is a power button. Press and hold the power button and it will ask you to swipe to power off. This is huge for people who struggle to push two buttons or forget which buttons to press or do not understand the difference between shutting down and turning off.
- Custom wallpaper (specifically a bookcase)- bookshelf with custom photo frame
- Emoji responses – use all the emojis and stickers to respond to texts – I use clementine for everything
- Schedule text messages for later – in texts – click the plus button on the left, click send later, set the time and date, type the text, click the arrow to send.
- Transcriptions of voice memos – create a new voice memo or open existing voice memo – click on the transcribe “lines” button in the lower left corner then click on the dialogue box with the quotation mark in the lower left corner and the transcription will appear.
- Calculator – simple (yet so complicated) conversions – kilograms to pounds, feet to miles, euros to dollars
